Robotic Assistance for Animal Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is a surgical technique introduced in the 1980s. One of the most popular forms of MIS is laparoscopic surgery, utilising small incisions, a laparoscope, and video assistance. There are no Robot-Assisted Surgical (RAS) systems explicitly designed for veterinary patients and many characteristics of current robotic systems are less than desirable for veterinary use. Veterinary species differ from human patients in anatomy, body size, and surgical diseases, requiring a veterinary RAS system different from a system designed for human surgery. Dr. Ogilvie is the

AVC PI and Victoria Keefe the researcher in charge of developing the gloves.
